As I am coming up on my two month anniversary of starting Sneaker Journey, I have already learned and experienced so many new things. But before we get into that I would first like to say thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way, and is continuing to support me. You are all greatly appreciated! This is the beginning of a long adventure for me and I am looking forward to continuing to grow, because it’s all up from here.
Now to get into my experiences so far: The past couple months have been very challenging. Getting into the reselling community and learning what I should/should not do has been a major learning curve. I started out by buying a pair of Jordan 4 ‘Motorsport Alternates’ from someone on Instagram, thinking I could make great profit. As I started to learn some more about the market I soon figured out it might not go as well as I hoped. Once I received the pair I spent a couple of days cleaning them up with the little bottle of cleaner I found at my house, and then took a bunch of pictures and excitedly posted them on Instagram, Grailed, eBay, and a few other apps. It ended up taking a pretty long time for them to sell, and in the end I only made about $14 off of that pair. BUT I consider that a huge win. Just from selling that one pair, I learned so much and I used that to grow. I bought the pair sort of as a trial run. That $14 of profit seemed like a loss at the time but the more I think about it, the more grateful I am that I didn’t make huge profit right away. It gave me something to improve next time. I will be talking about how I worked to make sure I made more then $14 on my next sale, and I will be talking about that in my next blog post.
